as a creative it is usually difficult, precisely, to create, the fact of doing something that matters to you and that you want to matter to others, to one person or to many, is an everyday battle. we try to do things that transcend and mean something, for a selfish reason or for the motion to make a change, indifferently, eventually we enter a loop of pessimism and reluctance that generates a gap in inertia and impulse to create and continue creating which it just feels wrong.
the creative syndrome: they told us something wrong, our stomach hurt, we didn't get the grade we wanted, the cat died, we creatives have the urge to find a favorite excuse for not creating, ironically this being our activity, the opinions others, our own opinions “what are they going to say?”, “they are going to laugh at me!”, or even worse, “nobody is going to care”.
the cure: keep in mind the goals you set yourself, and if you didn't set them, set them! remembering the reason why you started creating, the sensations of seeing that incredible work of art made by an artist whose name you never knew, the innocent emotion of doing something that you felt is great, and that it is yours, reaching a goal money for your family or for you!
to continue creating, you simply have to create.
all good things come later.
